(1664-1703)
The proprietary government of New Jersey was surrendered to the Crown in 1703. The substantial early records of the colony from 1664 to 1703 were calendared by William Nelson and published by the New Jersey Historical Society in 1899 - East Jersey Libri 1, 3, 4, A, B, C, D, E, F and G; and from West Jersey the registers of New Salem Town Grants, Revel's Book of Survey, Fenwick's Surveys, Salem Surveys, Salem Deeds, Greenwich Town Lote and Gloucester Deeds. The material surveyed includes Indian deeds, patents and other conveyances, confirmatory patents, licences for purchase of lands from the Indians, town charters, court proceedings, military and civil commissions, and allowances of land for immigrant servants; but marriage certificates were omitted from this calendar, being reserved for a separate publication. Private bills dealing with divorce, disputed and entailed estates: petitions, reports and commissions: naturalisation proceedings. This abstract of the archives from the beginning of the third Session of the first Parliament of queen Anne, 24 October 1704, to the end of the first Session of her second Parliament, 19 March 1706, was prepared by Cuthbert Headlam and J. B. Hotham and printed in 1912 in continuation of the volumes issued under the authority of the Historical Manuscripts Commission.

Also includes Queen Anne's Civil List (royal expenditure) Lottery papers: payment of the royal servants had fallen two years in arrear: Parliament passed an Act allowing the queen to raise half a million pounds by pledging 32 years' future income: she did this by means of a lottery.

Section 79 lists the King's Officers and Servants in Ordinary Above Stairs, under the Lord Chamberlain, including the Grooms of the Bedchamber, the Gentlemen of the Privy Chamber, Cup Bearers, Carvers, Gentlemen-Sewers, Gentlemen-Ushers of the Privy Chamber, Daily Waiters, Grooms of the Privy Chamber, Quarterly Waiters in Ordinary, Sewers of the Chamber, Pages of the Presence Chamber, Grooms of the Great Chamber, Coffer Bearers, Pages of the Bedchamber and Back Stairs, Officers in the Removing Wardrobe, Standing Wardrobe keepers, the Master of the Robes and his officials, the Waiters of the Robes, Laundress of the Body Linen, Sempstress, Starcher, Necessary Women, Treasurer and Comptroller of the Chamber, Master of the Jewel Office, Master of the Ceremonies, Serjeants-at-Arms, and a host of messengers, musicians, physicians, apothecaries and surgeons; together with the housekeepers for the various palaces, and other royal servants and officials throughout the realm.SCHOUTEN. The Home Office issued monthly lists of aliens to whom Certificates of Naturalization had been granted by the Secretary of State and whose oaths of allegiance had been registered in the Home Office. These notices, from January to December 1926, refer to naturalizations from December 1925 to November 1926. The lists give full name (surname first) with any aliases; country of origin; occupation; full postal address; date of taking the oath. The London telephone directory lists subscribers alphabetically by surname and then by christian name or initials, with their postal address and telephone number. This is the L to Z directory issued in May 1939, but also contains some names from earlier in the alphabet, for instance in the separate section for midwives.
