Calcutta Birth Notices (1856-1857)
A compilation of birth notices from Calcutta newspapers published in England in the Indian Mail in 1857, and covering the period 28 October 1856 to 13 November 1857. Most of the births recorded took place within the Bengal presidency. Names of infants are not given; s. means 'gave birth to a son', d. 'gave birth to a daughter'.

The Registrar of the High Court in Calcutta compiled, in April 1937, this list of cases heard before the court in 1889, giving notice that drafts of orders and decrees, affidavits of services of writs and of other processes, motion papers and chamber application papers were shortly to be destroyed. The list gives the number of the suit, the cause title (plaintiff versus defendant), and the names of the attorneys on both sides.

The India List and India Office List was compiled from official records by direction of the Secretary of State for India in Council, and published by the India Office annually. The volume for 1905 includes this Record of Services, corrected to 1 July 1904. It includes Officers of the Home Establishment of the Secretary of State, Officers of the Covenanted Civil Service, and those appointed under the Native Civil Service Rules, other Officers in Civil Employment in India whose substantive pay was at least 1000 rupees a month, and, with a few exceptions, all officers of those classes who had retired since 1886.

The India List and India Office List was compiled from official records by direction of the Secretary of State for India in Council, and published by the India Office annually. It covers civil servants and military except for officers drawing substantive pay of less than 500 rupees a month. Names shown in italics are those of officers in foreign service, supernumerary, seconded or employed outside their own departments. This list of Bombay civil annuitants gives their surname with initials, year of first appointment and year of commencement of annuity; there is a small additional list of recipients of invalid and reduced pensions.

Members of Oxford University: Men (1931)
The Oxford University Calendar for 1931 includes this list of all living members of the university, i. e. not only undergraduates and members of staff, but also all surviving graduates from earlier generations. The names are arranged alphabetically by surname, then by college in order of foundation. Surnames are given, initials, highest degree, name of college, and then the year of graduating the first degree. For undergraduates only name and college is given. An asterisk before a surname indicates a member on the foundation of the college. There are separate lists for men and women.
