In Spring 1791 this list was issued, of the 'Names and Descriptions of the Proprietors of Unclaimed Dividends on the Public Funds Transferable at the Bank of England, Which became due before the 31st of December, 1780, and remained unpaid the 31st of December, 1790. (the sample scan here is from the section for Bath). The directory started publication in 1791, but was not completed for some years, and the provincial lists, sent in by local agents, can date back as early as 1790 and as late as 1797.

Incidents from the Hertfordshire Sessions Books and Minute Books. These cover a wide range of criminal and civil business for the county: numerically, the most cases (362) concerned assaults and rioting, and larceny (378), but there is a large variety of other matter, as extensive as the jurisdiction of the courts. His Majesty's ship the Orion took part in the destruction of the French fleet in Aboukir Bay at the mouth of the Nile ('the Battle of the Nile') on the evening of the 1st and morning of the 2nd August 1798. This is the muster book for 12 October 1798 to 6 January 1799: being a continuation book in a series covering wages and victualling from April 1796, it also includes the names of some men who had died, deserted or been discharged from the ship from then to October 1798. The Asiatic Annual Register 'or, a View of the History of Hindustan, and of the Politics, Commerce and Literature of Asia', to some extent modelled on the Annual Register itself, included an informative Chronicle section, in which are recorded births, marriages and deaths, civil and military promotions, in Bengal, Bombay and Madras presidencies and Ceylon. Apprenticeship indentures and clerks' articles were subject to a 6d or 12d per pound stamp duty: the registers of the payments usually give the master's trade, address, and occupation, and the apprentice's name, as well as details of the date and length of the apprenticeship. There are central registers for collections of the stamp duty in London, as well as returns from collectors in the provinces. These collectors generally received duty just from their own county, but sometimes from further afield. The indentures themselves can date from a year or two earlier than this return. (The sample entry shown on this scan is taken from a Bristol return.
