The poll of the freeholders of Berkshire on an election of two representatives in Parliament, taken at Abingdon on Monday 12 October 1812 and fourteen following days. The candidates were Charles Dundas esquire (D: 1717 votes), the Hon. Richard Neville (N: 1374), and William Hallett esquire (H: 525). This poll book sets out the names of the voters in alphabetical order parish by parish. After the name of the parish or township, the name of the hundred in which it lay is given in italics. The freeholders' full names are stated, surname first, and the place of their abode (often elsewhere). The right hand column records their votes. 'A Natural and Chymical Treatise of Agriculture, from the Works of Count Gustavus Adolphus Gyllenborg; with Practical Remarks and Additions: by W. Pilkinton, Land Surveyor, Valuer of Estates, and Late Secretary to the East Devon Agricultural Society', was published in Banbury in 1823, having been subscribed to in advance by over 2000 farmers and gentlemen, mainly from the southern counties, doubtless anxious to discover the secrets of Gyllenborg's new techniques for improving crop yields.

| Electors in Rochester St Nicholas
(1835)
A poll to elect knights of the shire to represent the Western Division of the county of Kent in parliament was held in 1835, the candidates being Thomas Law Hodges (H), Thomas Rider (R) and sir William R. P. Geary (G). The poll started on January 19th; Rider withdrawing his name on that first day, the poll was closed prematurely, many electors not yet having voted. This poll book lists all the electors, whether they voted or not; the county franchise included not only male freeholders of 40s a year, but also £10 copyholders and long-leaseholders, and £50 short-leaseholders and tenants. For each elector the full name is given (surname first) and residence (often not the place for which qualified to vote). Votes are indicated by dashes in the right-hand columns. TULL. A poll was taken 26 July 1837 for the election of two members to represent the City of Westminster in Parliament. The candidates were Lieut.-Col. de Lacey Evans, John Temple Leader, and Gen. the Right Hon. sir George Murray, K. G. C. This poll book lists the electors with full name (surname first) and address (in italics), dashes indicating for whom they cast their votes. The names are listed alphabetically by first letter of surname, arranged in the eight parishes of Westminster, plus the extra-parochial Precincts of the Savoy.TULL. | British Guiana Slave Owners (1838)
Slavery was abolished throughout the British Empire by act of Parliament in 1833. This list, published in 1838, gives details of compensation paid to owners who had suffered by the emancipation of their slaves after abolition. The table gives the date of the award, the number of the claim, the full name of the party to whom payment was awarded, the number of slaves, and the sum paid. Some masters had owned more than 100 slaves; most of the claimants had only a few. The cost of the loss of a single slave was generally assessed here at as much as £63. There were 2668 claims from British Guiana, including some that were abandoned, disallowed, or still unsettled because of litigation.
