| Voters in Northampton
(1826)
A poll to elect two burgesses to represent the town and borough of Northampton, was held there 12 to 20 June 1826. This poll book lists the voters alphabetically by surname, giving christian name, abode, occupation (in italics), and whether they voted for sir George Robinson, sir Robert Henry Gunning, or William Leader Maberly.

| Petitioning Creditors and Solicitors
(1828-1829)
Principal creditors petitioning to force a bankruptcy (but often close relatives of the bankrupt helping to protect his assets). Perry's Bankrupt and Insolvent Gazette was printed monthly for subscribers only, and included a section entitled Bankrupts, summarizing notices of bankruptcy proceedings. Volume 4, for 1829, covers bankruptcies gazetted from 2 December 1828 to 24 November 1829. The Gazette provided an index to the names of the principal bankrupts, but we have prepared this index to the names of the principal creditors, together with some stray names and solicitors from the records.

| Buckinghamshire Freeholders: Olney
(1831)
The poll of the freeholders of Buckinghamshire at the election of two knights of the shire to serve in Parliament, taken at Aylesbury 5, 6, 7 and 9 May 1831. The candidates were the Marquis of Chandos, John Smith esquire, and Pascoe Grenfell esquire. This poll book sets out the names of the voters in alphabetical order hundred by hundred and parish by parish. The freeholders' full names are stated, surname first, and the place of their abode (often elsewhere). The right hand column records their votes. | Leicester Poll Book: Resident Voters
(1832)
A poll was taken on 12 and 13 December 1832 for the election of two representatives in Parliament for the borough of Leicester, the candidates being William Evans esquire (E.), Wynn Ellis esquire (El.) and J. W. Boughton Leigh esquire (L.). This poll book, printed by J. G. Brown of Leicester, gives the name, residence and occupation of all the electors, divided into four categories: resident voters, non-resident voters, resident non-voters, and non-resident non-voters. For those who polled, their votes are marked on the right hand side. Under the 1832 Reform Act the franchise within the borough had been extended to all (adult male) owners or tenants of property worth £10 a year or more.WYKES. | Voters in the Western Division of Norfolk, for the parish of Walsoken
(1837)
Under the Reform Act of 1832, the County of Norfolk was allotted four Members of Parliament, being two Knights of the Shire for the Eastern Division and two for the Western. The Western Division included the hundreds of Brothercross, Clackclose, Freebridge Lynn, Freebridge Marshland, Gallow, North Greenhoe, South Greenhow, Grimshoe, Guiltcross, Holt, Launditch, Mitford, Shropham, Smithdon and Wayland. Polling in 1837 took place at Swaffham, Downham, Fakenham, Lynn Regis, Thetford and East Dereham. The franchise was available to freeholders worth 40s a year or over; copyholders and long leaseholders of £10 or more; short leaseholders and tenants of £50 or more: but limited to adult males. Voting took place on 1 and 2 August 1837. This poll book lists the voters for each parish, with the votes cast. Each voter had two votes: the votes are indicated in the columns F. (Sir William Henry Browne Folkes, 2838); A. (Sir Jacob Astley, 2713); B. (William Bagge, 3178); and C. (William Lyde Wiggett Chute, 2877). The voters were not necessarily resident in the parish, but derived their franchise from the land there; so some of the names have addresses outside the parish, not a few living in different counties. Not everyone voted, but everyone with a vote was listed in the poll book: persons who qualified for voting in two parishes (but nevertheless had just the one vote per person) are noted as such.WYKES.
